CO₂ and non-CO₂ balanced Environmental Scores Module for flight performance evaluation and optimisation

Abstract The SESAR2020 exploratory research (ER4) programme CREATE (Grant 890898) developed a climate and weather aware Concept of Operations (ConOps) which encompasses multi-aircraft 4D trajectory optimisation framework, utilises CO 2 non-CO balanced Environmental Scores Module (ESM) for the en-route flight phase. ESM provides computational method to evaluate “greenness” aircraft trajectories. Some components related internal scoring are based on expert judgement, is in line with technology readiness level (TRL) 1 solution. Fast-time simulations were performed demonstrate proof-of-concept tactical scenario North-Atlantic region. results show that, because simplicity metric, could be well used replanning, most likely as ATC sector environmental performance evaluations.
